Rehab, Refit, Return to Duty (Rx3) Expansion

Abstract

MSK health across the lifespan is key to optimal function and essential for work, activities of daily living and recreation. Relevant conditions including acute injuries and chronic syndromes that involve pain and/or functional limitations are altogether referred to herein as "MSK." These problems comprise an under-recognized component of overall well-being. A comprehensive home approach is critical because MSK impacts mental, social, psychological, physical, spiritual and behavioral domains. Importantly it is not just a DoD or VA problem, overall, more than 1 in 2 adults—124 million Americans over 18—reported a MSK medical condition, and this exceeds the next two most common health conditions: circulatory conditions and respiratory conditions. Thus preventing, rehabbing and returning those with MSK injuries to normal is critical. The effort described will benefit anyone with a common MSK issue – as the website is open to all
