Maintenance Support Equipment
Abstract
This project supports requirements generation for Sets, Kits, and Outfits (SKOs) and the subsequent creation of technical data as well as purchase descriptions. Funding will support the modernization of Mobile Maintenance Equipment Shop Set Shelters for the next generation armored vehicle in order to lower the weight of enclosure to accommodate required tool load. Efforts will continue on deploying SKOs to support rapid emerging missions including joint efforts. Support equipment items including Special Tool Sets and Load Banks will be acquired and tested. This project will fund efforts to include development of the Next Generation Shop Equipment Welding (SEW), additional modules and the Next Generation Standard Automotive Tool Set (SATS), the Metalworking and Machining Shop Set (MWMSS), as well as the Armament Repair Shop Set (ARSS) that support the merging of Military Occupational Specialties (MOS). Research, development, and testing of Fire Suppression bottle refill systems and investigation feasibility of Joint Modular Container Systems for SKOs will also be performed.
