Integration and Interactions Among Cognitive Architecture Learning Modules

Abstract

Abstract This research will complete research on delayed intentions and initiate a comprehensive research agenda on using activation as non-symbolic metadata to improve performance under uncertainty across almost all aspects of the Soar cognitive architecture. Our research on delayed intentions will finish development of four alternative strategies and evaluating them across multiple tasks. Our work on activation will explore additional roles for working memory (improved maintenance and interactions with other memories), semantic memory (context-dependent retrieval), episodic memory (retrieval and forgetting), procedural knowledge (uncertainty/confidence), and appraisal (usefulness).
