Acoustic Color Quality Assessment (ACQUA)

Abstract

This program, which is a collaborative effort between ARL/PSU and GTRI, will investigate the influence of aperture phase error on the quality of the acoustic color map. A quality metric for acoustic color maps will be developed. This metric will be used to quantify the sensitivity of the signal processing architecture to a predefined set of phase errors (e.g. linear, sinusoidal, random, etc.). Finally, we will analyze how quality of the acoustic color map affects the separability between target and clutter.
