Exploiting Environmental Noise for Coherent Vector Sensor Processing

Abstract

Project Summary This research effort will develop processing methodology to exploit environmental noise for coherent processing of a distributed network of vector sensors deployed on drifting floats,. Deep water ambient noise data will be collected using vector sensors deployed on drifting floats to determine ambient noise statistics and relevant correlation lengths. The resulting findings will be used to optimize coherent processing of vector sensor recordings given the inherent threedimensional spatial uncertainties of the vector sensor nodes.
