ROPO Project: Development of a Model of Interaural Time Delay (ITD) Coding in Primate Auditory Cortex
Abstract
Development of a Model of Interaural Time Delay (ITD) Coding in Primate Auditory Cortex Anatomy-based models of primate auditory cortex consists of several major regions arranged in a processing hierarchy. The regions are thought to contribute differently to two functional streams: the identity of sounds, and their spatial location, respectively. Functionally, two competing models of ITD coding exist within the location stream. To develop an ITD coding model, the neuronal responses to ITDs, the major sound laterality cue, will be analyzed within and across these regions of the macaque auditory cortex.
