Upper Ocean Measurements from Profiling Floats in the Arabian Sea During NASCar

Abstract

We propose to deploy profiling floats in the northern Arabian Sea as part of ONR~s NorthernArabian Sea Circulation and Research (NASCar) program, and to analyze the resulting data, forpurposes of improving our knowledge of the near-surface temperature and salinity distributionsin this region and air-sea interaction, and to help to refine model estimates of the circulation in this region.
