ESRDC - Designing and Powering the Future Fleet - Task 3.1.3 - S-Parameter Based Framework for Analysis of Common Mode Couplings Between MVDC Power Apparatus

Abstract

S Parameter Based Framework for Analysis of Common Mode Couplings Between MVDC Power Apparatus Project Summary MSU is designing a process for discretizing the physical description of free-form conductor shapes, such as hull plates and bulkheads, into elementary finite element models that can be converted into a computationally efficient behavioral model derived from physics using industry accepted software. The proposed tool is ideal for the broad frequency range required for common-mode current expected in an advanced integrated power system needed for future surface combatants. Furthermore, the resulting models are compatible with the coupling models to be completed by Florida State University and the source models to be completed by Purdue, our collaborators in common-mode modeling in the ESRDC.
