Design of Random Particles and Their Collections for Controlled Light Scattering

Abstract

The project will extend the previous findings of the PI relating to possible control of statistical properties of light fields on scattering from the weakly random particles and their collections. The developed mathematical models of the correlation functions for the particle s refractive index will be augmented by computer simulations and experiments with laser light. The goal of the project is to design the particle s correlations for achieving the desired distributions of the farfield scattered intensity. The extensions to full electromagnetic domain and to near-field region of scattering are also proposed.
