Workshop: Sensing and Analysis of High-Dimensional Data

Abstract

Duke University has hosted workshops on applied mathematics for several years, with the goal of bringing leading researchers in the world together. The goal has been to collectively define the state of the art in the area of sensing and analyzing high-dimensional data, and to define directions for future research. Previous workshops were held in 2009, 2011, and 2013, all at Duke University. The proposed workshop is planned for July 27-29, 2015 at Duke University, to be held at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club. Duke University is providing a significant portion of the funding to support this workshop. The proposed ONR supplemental funding will be directed toward supporting several aspects of the meeting, including video recording of all talks, supporting expenses of invited speakers, and help cover costs of the meeting facility (which are not fully met by the registration fee – in an effort to keep such fees modest). We also anticipate additional partial support for this workshop from ARO and DOE.
