Leveraging the SeaPerch Program s Network and Inrastructure to Explore Virtualization Technology and to Conduct and Crowdsource

Abstract

APPROACH/ABSTRACT SeaPerch seeks to generate awareness of STEM careers, especially Navy STEM, for a large pool of people, which in turn generates interest in STEM careers through completing the SeaPerch program, which ultimately results in pursuit of future STEM Study, and eventually a STEM career. The SeaPerch Program has a robust national network and infrastructure, honed over the past seven years. Relying on this vast network, the program will develop two pilot programs, to test, refine and distribute new technological advancements and innovations to the SeaPerch ROV, while developing the appropriate curricula to support the new technology. Emphasis will be placed on research and collaboration with ONR to craft Navy-relevant research topics, leveraging the network to crowd source its results.
