Exploration of Refractivity Phenomena in the Littoral Marine Boundary Layer

Abstract

The objective of this 2-year project is investigate the refractivity effects of environmental conditions and physical phenomena affecting signal transmission through the littoral arena, specifically through the very near-shore zone and surf zone. ODU will participate in experiments in Duck, NC and assist Navy researchers in data collection of radio frequency (RF) signals and data pertaining to environmental conditions. ODU researchers will process and analyze the data to support investigations into the extent of impact that environmental conditions have on RF signal propagation through these near shore zones in the marine boundary layer.
