Workshop: Living Materials

Abstract

Abstract The goal of the “Living Materials” workshop is to assemble leading researchers in the fields of bioinspired materials, biomanufacturing, flexible and organic electronics, and industrial innovators to discuss the next generation of materials that operate at the interface of technology and biology. In order to promote discussion and conversation four main interconnected themes will constitute the session topics as follows: (1) Building blocks -Bioinspired functional materials, (2) Functions: Bio-photonics, and Bioelectronics, (3) The Gap Between Research and Application, (4) Manufacturing and Scale-up of Novel Materials. The workshop will be wrapped up by a Future Challenges session to identify the grand challenges in materials tomorrow.
