Proposed Efforts for a Demonstration of Hydro-Reactive Propulsion for Supercavitating Vehicles

Abstract

The focus of the proposed project is to finalize development of a first-generation hydroreactive propulsion system capable of providing thrust sufficient to achieve self-propulsion on a suitable demonstration platform. The efforts proposed here will scale up the systems proven at the 54-mm form factor to the 75-mm form factor for the development and demonstration (both brassboard laboratory and field demonstrations) of a hydro-reactive motor producing about 260 lbs. of thrust for just under 5 seconds.
