SUPPORT FOR 73RD DEVICE RESEARCH CONFERENCE
Abstract
Abstract We request $5,000 to support student participation at the 73rd Device Research Conference (DRC). The funds provided by ONR will not be used for food or beverages. The DRC has a University setting (this year at The Ohio State University), and a strong tradition of student involvement, with strong student attendance to its short courses, poster session and oral presentations. The DRC also has a tradition of offering discounted student registration fees, not only for general attendance but also for its (separate) short courses, in order to encourage student participation and attendance from additional students who are not presenting an abstract. To these ends, we request support in the form of a $5,000 grant, which will allow us to offer up to 50% discount for student registration to the general conference and its short course. Topics at DRC are relevant to the DoD. Indeed, many papers present research that was sponsored by the DoD funding agencies, including several presentations from researchers at DoD research labs (ARL, AFRL, NRL, etc.).
