Abstract
3rd World Congress on Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) Congress Dates: May 31, 2015 – June 4, 2015 Requested Amount: $15,000 Proposed Period of Performance: February 1, 2015 – January 31, 2016 This conference is a follow up to the 1st and 2nd World Congresses on ICME and seeks to continue to advance the discipline of Integrated Computational Materials Engineering by providing the premier world venue for the sharing and dissemination of the latest scientific and engineering advances in this technical niche area. TMS is drawing on the ICME expertise and connections of its volunteer organizing committee to assemble a world class technical program which includes both podium and poster presentations. Finally, it is the goal of the organizers to ensure continued dissemination of the high quality, high impact technical content by publishing much of the research in the conference proceedings which will be available to attendees as a hard cover book which includes a cd with the conference papers in PDF form and will be searchable in the Elsevier web of knowledge data base. This conference is being organized by both volunteers and staff from The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society. The staff and volunteers involved in this effort will organize all aspects of the conference technical program, the logistical details of the conference such as location and arranging all equipment needed, and the technical exhibit. The staff and volunteers will also organize and develop the conference proceedings. Funding is requested from ONR to support these activities particularly in the area of support for staff administrative time; expenses for promotions, conference audiovisual equipment, and conference proceedings production; and support of student podium- and poster-style presentation awards.
