ONR Shiptime Operations, Technician & NSDF Support 2015-2019
Abstract
WHOI ONR Ship, Technician, and Vehicle Operations and Maintenance Proposal Project Summary/Abstract: This proposal includes funding requests for 2015 operations and repairs and replenishment of equipment used on Navy-owned UNOLS research ships and vehicles. WHOI requests funding to support 2015 ONR sponsored operations on R/Vs Atlantis and Armstrong and the Deep Submergence vehicle Alvin. Currently, ONR has not scheduled any time for the ROV Jason or AUV Sentry in 2015. The request also includes technician support as well as High Seas Net day rate funding for ONR sponsored voyages. Navy contributions for support of UNOLS fleet-wide FBB satellite communication systems are also included in the 2015 initial operating proposal. This proposal also includes ONR funding to install the DURIP funded Science Mission Equipment (SME) during the Armstrong’s Phase III period after delivery.
