Underwater Sound Projector for Arctic Shelf and Slope Acoustical Oceanography

Abstract

Proposed is the fabrication of an underwater sound projector with 300 Hzcenter frequency for use in the experiments focused around shelf-slope in various shallow water programs sponsored by the Office of Naval Research Code 322OA. Particularly the first time this sound projector is planned to be used is during the Arctic shelf-basin experiment that is planned for FY2016. The source will be part of the Arctic acoustic experiment that is being planned by the Office of Naval Research for FY2016 and FY2017. The proposed sound projector will be part of the system to collect data on the Arctic Beauford shelf and slope. Proposed funds will support purchase, fabrication, and engineering testing of the system.
