Fabrication of Large Format Imaging Systems
Abstract
Program Manager: Dr. Behzad Kamgar-Parsi ABSTRACT This proposal describes our goal of developing a class of large-format imaging systems that are both flexible in geometry and self-powered. If we are successful in achieving this, our results will serve as the foundation for a new class of cameras that can not only take different physical forms but also be able to work in the field untethered, without requiring external power. The development of our large-format imaging systems requires innovations in optics, imaging electronics, imaging firmware and image processing. This proposal includes a list of equipment we plan to purchase, which we are unable to purchase within the budget limitations of our current awards. This equipment will not only facilitate the development of the proposed imaging systems but also help up develop a cutting-edge facility for both teaching and research related to imaging.
