High-Energy-Density High-Temperature Dielectric Polymer Nanocomposites for Navy Capacitor Applications

Abstract

This proposal seeks to conduct design, synthesis and characterization of novel high-energy-density dielectric polymer nanocomposites with high operating temperatures and facile processability for Navy pulsed power applications. Through systematical synthesis and characterization, interplay between nanostructure, morphology, filler structure and ordering, dielectric responses, energy density and breakdown strength will be elucidated and new structures of dielectric polymers will be generated.
