Exploring Uncertainty in Real-Time Hybrid Substructuring of Marine Systems

Abstract

This research will formally and systematically investigate uncertainties in real-time hybrid substructuring (RTHS) of marine systems, interfacing physical component testing with a computer simulation of the remaining structure and fluid loading. The research will investigate the effect of uncertainties to demonstrate a probabilistic approach for system performance analysis and will closely interface with government and industry engineers in the Navy ship research and design community.
