THIS GRANT IS A CONTINUATION OF N00014-13-1-0632: The Information Content of Ocean Noise: Theory and Experiment
Abstract
The MURI team led by the PI will develop a scalable methodology to exploit ambient noise to estimate geo/ocean parameters and their evolution with time by: 1) developing a theoretical understanding of the information content available in the combination of acoustic data and a priori information, including physical models, 2) developing data processing and inversion methods that attain this information extraction goal and 3) experimentally validating results.
