An Information Theoretic Framework for Device-to-Device Communication Networks

Abstract

This project develops a foundation for the design of scalable approaches for device-to-device communication in military networks, which is essential for strategic coordination, sharing of intelligence, and autonomous control. To that end, five fundamental research thrusts are proposed, which focus on (1) optimal physical layer design; (2) network utility maximization; (3) wireless distributed computing; (4) multi-hop communication; and (5) information architecture design.
