11th International Conference on Sandwich Structures (ICSS 11
Abstract
This proposal provides support for the "Eleventh International Conference on Sandwich Structures (ICSS-11)," to be held in Fort Lauderdale, FL, at the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Sea Tec campus, 20 - 23 March 2016. The web page address is www.icss11.org. This series of conferences started in 1989, and has emerged as a unique forum for interaction between researchers and industrialists in the area of sandwich structure, an area of priority for basic and applied research for the US Navy. The conference will include a special ONR symposium, with four sessions, highlighting research in this area supported by the ONR Solid Mechanics Division. The conference Chair is Dr. L.A. Carlsson (FAU-PI), with Co-chairs Dr. Y.D.S. Rajapakse (ONR) and Dr. C. Berggreen, (DTU).The PI will prepare an executive summary of the conference papers, and their relevance/impact on Naval structures. This summary will include recommendations for future research on sandwich structures.
