THIS GRANT IS A CONTINUATION OF N00014-14-1-0190 Characterizing and Modeling Broadband Acoustic Forward Propagation, Scattering, Reverberation and Ambient Noise for Sensing in an Ocean Waveguide

Abstract

The PI will perform an analysis of active acoustic and passive ambient noise data from the ONR-sponsored 2006 and 2013 experiments in the Gulf of Maine (GOME), the 2003 experiment in the New Jersey Strataform (NJ03), and new ocean acoustic data to be acquired in the ONR-funded Norwegian Seas 2014 experiment will be processed analyzed. These data sets provide information on the temporal, spatial and statistical characteristics of the forward propagated acoustic field, biological clutter, scattered fields from man-made targets and environmental reverberation, as well as the oceanographic and environmental inputs necessary to validate our models.
