High-Order Accuracy for Large Eddy Simulations

Abstract

Project Title: High-Order Accuracy for Large Eddy SimulationsFunds are provided to broaden the scope of applicability of previously developed high-order finite-element solution algorithms to include incompressible flows, with specific emphasis on Large Eddy Simulations for fundamental prediction of turbulent statistics relevant to noise sources. Turbulent boundary layer flow will be considered with the intent of capturing high-order statistics for pressure fluctuations and to derive coherent length scales using first principles.
