Survey of the State-of-the-Art of Explosives Vapor Sensing Technology and Determination of the Feasibility of Titanium Dioxide Semiconductor Nanowire Sensors for Field Use

Abstract

Survey of the State-of-the-Art of Explosives Vapor Sensing Technology and Determination of the Feasibility of Titanium Dioxide Sem Experimental work will be performed to improve the response of thin-film TiO2 nanowire sensors. The goal of the experiments is to reduce the response time, lower the detection threshold, and increase the sensitivity of the sensors toward explosives and explosives-related compounds. Additionally, a survey of the state-of-the-art for non-classified, trace-level explosives vapor sensing will be performed.
