Fusing Social Media and Aerial Radiological Measurements of Study CBRNE Emergencies

Abstract

We propose a program of research to investigate the feasibility of combining social media and sensor data to provide a more comprehensive approach to providing early warning, mitigating the effect of, and assessing the extent of damage from CBRNE emergencies. This proposal leveragesdata from Twitter and from the SAFECAST project to estimate awareness and exposure to radioactive contaminants from regions down to individual people.
