EOD Robotics Future Technology Assessment, Integration, and Analysis for the Office of Naval Research Department of Defense Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Applied Research Program
Abstract
PSU/ARL will conduct a review and analysis of technologies currently available and emerging in several technology areas that support ground and undersea robotic missions, including EOD applications. PSU/ARL will work to identify advances made in areas of medical, gaming, automotive, prosthetics, and other fields where large investments are being made in robotics. Furthermore, PSU/ARL will identify synergies between technologies developed in different sectors, where their combination may be beneficial to EOD goals. PSU/ARL will actively track progress and status of current and future ONR S&T projects in the DOD EOD robotics portfolio. PSU/ARL will provide a written report quarterly to ONR on this task. PSU/ARL will document and decompose the software under development by MIT as part of their ONR funded project, Prospective Human-Guided Teleautonomy for Agile Mobility and Dexterous Manipulation to satisfy AEODRS acquisition program requirements for autonomous grasping. PSU/ARL will deliver an updated Software Description Document, Software Installation and User manual, and Algorithm Description Documents for the motion planning portions of the software.
