Infrared Imaging for Improved Metamaterial Characterization
Abstract
SOWFunds are provided to buy specific laboratory research apparatus which will enhance Dr Padilla s ability to do his multiply supported ONR research on metamaterials.ObjectiveThe objective of the new lab test gear is to allow the response of larger areas of metamaterial surfaces to have their performance analyzed and to do so in a time resolved way. This will enhance his ability to achieve hardware to design correlation and otherwise conduct his research.ApproachHis work includes spatial light modulator and radome design as well as sparse array behavior and hyperspectral imaging. The hardware bought will improve his ability to experimentally work in all these areas. It will attach to other apparatus he already has and make it more functional.Merit / RelevanceDr Padilla is a very capable researcher working at a high tier research institution. The equipment will be well used.
