16th Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell Symposium
Abstract
Funds are provided to support the travel costs of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows who will present a talk and/or poster during the 16th Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell Symposium during the 2016 Pacific Rim Meeting on Electrochemical and Solid-State Science (PRiME 2016) and for awards for exemplary student posters presented at the meeting. The 16th Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell Symposium is devoted to all aspects of research, development, and engineering of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs), as well as low-temperature direct-fuel cells using either anion or cation exchange membranes. The intention is to bring together the international community working on the subject and to enable effective interactions between research and engineering communities. The symposium has six different sections covering Diagnostics/Characterization Methods, MEA Design, Model Fuel Cell Systems, Stack/BOP Design, Gas Processing, Cation-Exchange Membrane Performance & Durability, Catalyst Activity/Durability for Hydrogen(- Reformate) Acidic Fuel Cells, Materials for Alkaline Fuel Cells and Direct-Fuel Fuel Cells, and the sixth new session on Polymer-electrolyte electrolysis. We anticipate that approximately 400 talks will be submitted to the PEFC16 symposium. After a first day of plenary talks, there will be 4 days of 6 concurrent sessions. This international symposium will take place during the 2016 Pacific Rim Meeting on Electrochemical and Solid-State Science (PRiME 2016) in Honolulu, HI. A joint international meeting of The Electrochemical Society, The Electrochemical Society of Japan, and the Korean Electrochemical Society, PRiME 2016 is expected to draw over 3,500 attendees from around the world.
