Optical Wavefront Processing for Hybrid Lidar-Radar

Abstract

We propose to investigate the spatial processing of optical lidar signals before detection to optimize the propagation of the optical wavefront through the underwater environment. This approach has the potential to improve lidar detection by mitigating optical channel effects such as wavefront distortion due to turbulence. Optical wavefront shaping, encoding, and sensing will be considered.
