An Euler-Lagrangian Numerical Modeling for Poly-dispersed Sediment Transport under Waves

Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) to continue expanding the existing Euler-Lagrangian numerical modeling framework for simulating medium and fine sand transport under waves, (2) to study the effects of bed armoring and grain shape on wave-induced sediment transport, particularly for highly energetic wave condition, and (3) to develop new and improved sediment transport parameterizations in coastal evolution models, particularly for bed armoring effect, through close collaboration with researchers in regional scale modeling.
