The Design of Responsive Sea-Based Logistic Delivery Systems

Abstract

In this basic science effort, we will explore the design of a responsive sea~based logistic delivery systemwith imperfect visibility. We will develop models and algorithms to quantify and evaluate Naval logisticstrategies in the presence of imperfect visibility. Our intent in this research is to quantify the impactthat imperfect visibility has on logistic performance, to emphasize the design requirements ofresponsive sea~based logistic delivery systems, and to aid in analyzing the trade~offs associated withoperating in a complex and uncertain environment.
