Micro and Nanoscale Phase Change Heat Transfer Gordon Research Conference

Abstract

The Micro and Nanoscale Phase Change Heat Transfer GRC will be held in Hotel Galvez, Galveston, TX, January 8-13, 2017. This GRC is the second such conference for the heat transfer community and offers a unique venue to accelerate ideas and disseminate fundamental knowledge in scientific frontier pertinent to thermal processes. The conference will provide the venue for the community to identify and develop strategies to better focus future research efforts, develop a clear vision about research needs, learn about recent research developments in the field, and identify research shortcomings. Bringing top echelon experts, securing financial support for the conference, and attracting a large number of participants will ensure the conference’s longevity. Thus, the financial support of the conference is an important factor that will determine the success of the conference. This GRC ties in well with the ONR’s mission of fundamental understanding of phase-change heat transfer for addressing thermal management challenges in various naval applications.
