Ultra-high vacuum electron beam evaporation system for the fabrication of nanoscale electronic devices

Abstract

Finding is provided for the acquisition of an integrated electron beam evaporation system. The system will be used to develop semiconductor nanowire-based devices for the investigation of Majorana fermions, correlated nanoelectronics based on complex oxide materials, for engineering exotic states of light with superconducting circuits, for electrical pumping of graphene by two-dimensional electron gas injection and for DNA-based nanofabrication of functional nanoscale devices __ all DoD funded current projects at Univ. of Pittsburg.
