Development of Vacuum Electronic Devices using Graphene Cathode

Abstract

Final goal of this research is to design and develop high power THz VED using graphene field electron emitter cathode with proper interaction circuit. In our first approach, we will start with simpler circuit to in Ka-band frequency using dual-period metallic grating as interaction and coupling structure. This study will help us to understand the mechanism in deeper level and also prove the proposed device concept. In the future, the operating frequency can be increased to higher frequency such as terahertz.
