Nonlinear Light-Metasurface Interactions in the Mid-Infrared Range

Abstract

This effort will 1) design, optimize and experimentally demonstrate a ChG-based hyperlens enabling enhanced subwavelength resolution at the MWIR wavelengths, 2) develop all-ChG and metal-ChG metasurfaces composed of engineered meta-atoms supporting Mie-like resonances for enhanced nonlinear interactions and structured light generation at the new frequencies, and 3) design and demonstrate nonlinear, hyperbolic metasurfaces that exhibit strong, dispersion-dependent spin-orbit coupling, enabling polarization- and wavelength-dependent manipulation of MWIR beams.
