Development of a STEM Education Program in Support of Naval Flight Test Engineering
Abstract
ITPR#139910University Research Initiatives (URI )it is of great importance to ensure graduates are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to have an immediate impact on the DoN mission. Incoming engineers to the NAVAIR command with a B.S. degree typically require additional training after their hire. In particular, a growing need for NAVAIR command appears to be experience and training in Flight Test Engineering (FTE) as weapons systems become increasingly complex while the incumbent flight test workforce is aging.
