DEVELOPMENT OF MULTISCALE COUPLING TECHNIQUES FOR MODELING COMPRESSIBLE MULTIPHASE FLOWS

Abstract

Modeling and simulation plays a critical role for understanding weapons and their effects on navalstructures. The purpose of this proposal is to seek 1 year funding to complete the doctoral dissertation of Mr. Stewart, who has been funded under ULI program. The proposed research willbuild upon past accomplishments and accomplish 5 tasks to develop an unprecedentedunderstanding of granular media driven by shock. NSWC-IHD will guide the University-basedresearch efforts and mentor the student.
