Benefits of Working Memory Training
Abstract
This lab has demonstrated the importance of individual differences in working memory capacity (WMC), fluid intelligence (Gf) , and attention control (AC) in many real-world tasks and jobs. The purpose of the work proposed here is to better understand the role of attention control in mediating the relationship between WMC/Gf and sensory discrimination. We also will do brain imaging studies to try to explain the highly reliable and sizable relationship we discovered between Gf and size of the pupil of the eye under no-load baseline conditions.
