Accelerated Prediction of the Polar Ice and Global Ocean (APPIGO)

Abstract

To improveArctic forecast capability by modifying component models fto better utilize new computational architectures. We have focused to date on the Los Alamos Sea Ice Model (CICE) and the Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model (HYCOM) and have been exploring and evaluating optimization for each model on GPU-accelerated and MIC-based architectures.
