Intensity Vector Acoustics and Mid Frequency Sonar Studies, and Experiments in Korean Coastal Waters

Abstract

A three-year period of research is proposed to understand and predict key properties of the signalintensity vector field as it relates to both propagation and reverberation, including the influence of achanging sea surface. The proposed research emphasizes phenomena related to the intensity vectorfield, such as energy flux streamlines, but remains grounded to practical plans involving measurements of the sea surface made simultaneously with mid-frequency reverberation and propagation. This plan involves new field trials in coastal environments to be made jointly with the Korean Agency for Defense Development (ADD) in Korean coastal waters
