Unraveling Intermolecular Interactions in Non-Fullerene Acceptor-Based Polymer Solar Cells for Manufacturing.

Abstract

This proposal addresses the underlying mechanism of the photovoltaic effectin non-fullerene acceptor (NFA):conjugated polymer systems by carrying out minor structuralmodifications to the NFA and conjugated polymer component, carefully processing the materialsas blend films in a repeatable and reproducible manner, and subsequently thoroughly probing themorphological, photophysical, and PV properties. Using continuous feedback from processingand device studies, we plan to design more efficient NFA/polymer couples, initially studying themwith known highly performing donor polymers, and subsequently use the knowledge gained todesign new complimentary polymers.
