Unraveling Intermolecular Interactions in Non-Fullerene Acceptor-Based Polymer Solar Cells for Manufacturing.

Abstract

This proposal addresses the underlying mechanism of the photovoltaic effect in non-fullereneacceptor (NFA): conjugated polymer systems by carrying out minor structural modifications to theNFA and conjugated polymer component, carefully processing the materials as blend films in arepeatable and reproducible manner, and subsequently thoroughly probing the morphological, photophysical, and PV properties. Using continuous feedback from processing and device studies,we plan to design more efficient NFA/polymer couples, initially studying them with known highlyperforming donor polymers, and subsequently use the knowledge gained to design newcomplimentary polymers.
