Understanding Turbulence on Navy Vehicles

Abstract

To investigate the effects of pressure gradient, streamline curvature, andconvergence/divergence on wall-bounded turbulent flow, we propose a series offundamental, very high Reynolds number experiments to study the individual effects andtheir interaction. Our focus is on improving the understanding of complex wall-boundedturbulent flows, and the development of new physical and computational models.
