Multi-objective optimization capability, surrogate models, Design Structured Matrix and holonic System integrated in the Early Stage Ship Design

Abstract

The PI will conduct research focused on extending design capabilities including:~ -Investigation of a multi-objective optimization algorithm for concept exploration and effective identification of design alternatives~ -Investigation of the holonic system perspective to extend consideration of Overall Effectiveness Evaluation Methods ~ -Investigation and validation of surrogate models of the Design Synthesis Methods and Life Cycle Cost Methods~ -Extension of the range of applicability of the Design Synthesis Methods~ -Application of the Design Structure Matrix methodology to rationalize the Design Synthesis Methods body of work
