STEM Education Research - Using the SeaPerch Program for Research: Exploring the utilization, delivery methods, curriculum design and delivery, research and technical opportunities and assessment

Abstract

The PI will conduct research into various models of program delivery and utilization to inform future program investment. The PI will investigate alternate program delivery methods through pilot program implementation, including the use of webcasts, social media, etc. to provide training and deliver program content. The PI will develop specific curriculum and activities to enhance the hands-on build experience, incorporating research projects to support scientific discovery using the SeaPerch ROV. These discoveries will be shared via social media and the online community thereby facilitating affordable expansion of the program. The PI will conduct an annual national event highlighting various aspects of functional usage of ROVs and providing a forum for exchange of ideas among the program participants.
