A simple method of measuring hypoxic levels in warfighters

Abstract

Hypoxia compromises warfighter cognitive and visual performance. Needed is a method whereby warfighters can receive rapid, intuitively obvious feedback on their own level of hypoxia under field conditions. Proposed here is the development and test of a simple method for quantifying levels of hypoxia based upon systematic and graded loss of S-cone function in color matching.
