Abstract

Naval STEM Exposition, Navy League of the United StatesTo address the growing problem of a diminishing technician pipeline and to improve the quality and the quantity of the future STEM workforce, the Navy League STEM Institute will host it~s the second and third Naval STEM Exposition on May 15, 2016 and April 2, 2017 at the beginning of the Navy League~s Sea-Air-Space Exposition, respectively. This event will showcase the importance of a naval STEM career by highlighting Naval and Marine Corps STEM skill sets, content, career opportunities, facilities, personnel and best practice programs. The Naval STEM Exposition will utilize a diverse group of highly experienced STEMprofessionals comprised of Navy and Marine Corps personnel (uniformed, civilian, active duty and retired), naval laboratories and contractor organizations who will engage with middle school and high school students in an informal learning environment via participation in hands-on activities and discussions about career exploration.
